Collaboration Group Activity

Today we did a group activity to show collaboration. The activity was that we were put in groups and had been given a sheet of paper, scissors and glue. We had to make a paper plane. We only had 20 minutes to do it. We worked together in a group. Every group had made a plane. But witch plane could fly the farthest? One person from each group held the plane that their group had made and threw it to make it fly. My group had made the original paper plane. Every other group made their plane differently. We thought because are plane was not cool like the others are plane will come last. But to are suprise it came 2nd! 

Term 2 reflection

Term 2 has been a very busy term with lots of exciting things happening. We have done a lot of maths, writing and reading. We started to do fale houses at the start of the term. Fale means house. There were 4 houses, Rata (red), Kauri (blue), Kowai (yellow) and Totara (green). Those houses are native trees. I am in Kowhai.  Everybody has been put in a fale. In the corridor there are tall boxes of each colour that has a hole at the top. You can earn tokens if you have good behaviour or hard work. When you get earn a token you go to the corridor and put the token in your fale. From the top where the hole is.  Every Thursday the token counters count all the tokens in each fale and put the numbers up by the corridor where the boxes are. ( I am a token counter ) The fale that has the most tokens gets to keep a block of just fun. We've got fale leaders witch help to set things up. The fale leaders have to be a year 6. Everybody has been trying to earn tokens to help their fale win. Today is the last day of term 2. Today there is a pyjama and shared lunch, which I am looking forward to. 

The DISCO

 There was a DISCO last Friday. It was at school in the auditorium. 1 ticket was 3 dollars. We paid 6 dollars for 2 tickets. For me and my little brother. My brother went for his DISCO. He went in the juniors DISCO with my older sister to look after him. After the juniors DISCO was finished, I went to my seniors DISCO. It was all dark and had lots of colourful lights. It was really cool because the room kept on going red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink. I bought 6 glow sticks and some food. There was loud songs on. It was really fun!!!

Just Dance

Yesterday we did just dance with room 12 and 13. But I was a token counter so I missed out in few dances. We did just dance to practise are dancing for the DISCO coming up. After counting we rushed to the auditorium to join everyone in the dance. We did YMCA and it was really funny. My favourite dance was Waka Waka. I was in a group of 4. In my group I had my best friends Shanayah, Ellie and Kay-Brieanna. In Waka Waka we do the bike and that's my favourite part. My friends made the bike and I was on top. My second favourite part is at the end when I had to jump and my friends carried me away. It was really fun.

Panikeke

 We had tasted a doughnut called Panikeke. It was soft and a little crunchy from some berries. It was a round shape. It tasted like cake. Panikeke is a Samoan doughnut. It is really good!

Bee experiment

 Today we did an experiment about bees. 

We all got a dead bee, some tweezers and a magnifying glass. I felt really scared to touch the bee because it was really huge and terrifying. But it was furry and dead. We got a worksheet that had some questions we had to answer. I was lucky and I got a queen bee. We took the magnifying glass and looked at the bees legs and abdomen. We also wrote five facts about bees. It was really cool.
