Hi Phil this weeks Cybersmart is really interesting. It's nice to know if others can get persuaded by your writing. I think that's a good idea. Example If say that there are more good places in Auckland than New Plymouth, wouldn't they do some research to see if it's true? Probably not. I don't think it will attract more people just because I say that it has a highest population. I wrote that because some people think that if it's a highest population then lot's of people like living here in this country. I only just wrote it because to take it as a good fact.

I hope that people would do some research themselves but like you said I bet there are people who would just believe you. Can you think of any examples where media may be trying to trick you like that on purpose?
Thanks for letting me know. One class mentioned how when people try to sell houses they will show all the nice views and good stuff but won't mention the noisy neighbours or busy roads. So they're not lying but they've choosing to leave out some information. Can you think of anything like that?

Good thinking. It's good to be aware that as people create media they are always making choices and choosing to include some things while leaving other things out.
